The Bright Future of Solar Energy
To celebrate the UNESCO International Day of Light on 16 May 2018, Professor Kylie Catchpole from ANU is presenting a seminar at the University of Melbourne on "The bright future of solar power".
When: 5.15pm, Wednesday 16 May 2018
Where: Cuming Theatre, School of Chemistry, The University of Melbourne, Parkville
The price of solar electricity is now lower than the retail price of conventional electricity in many parts of Australia, and solar panels have been installed on over one million roofs across the country. This presentation will give an overview of the astonishing growth in solar we’ve seen to date, and what we can expect for the future, including new research on using materials engineering and nanotechnology to improve the efficiency of solar cells.
Co-sponsored by the Melbourne University Chemical Society (MUCS).
Prof Kylie Catchpole will also present the seminar on Thursday 17 May at Monash University at 12pm.
